I've discovered something about myself recently that I think I always knew, but maybe hadn't articulated into words. I have strong feelings that nothing ever really needs to be that serious. I truly relish figuring out that there is a smirk hidden behind something someone says or does or suggests. For my birthday Greg bought me the book Peter Pan. I'm only at the very beginning, but the author J.M. Barrie captures so well the essence of this thing I'm feeling. He writes in a style that is not overly wordy, with the literal and figurative constantly being intertwined. As the reader you are just supposed to get it. And I do! I love it. The writing is playful, mischievous, and romantic.
A palette I'm loving lately is a warm Rose + Medium Green + Overexposed Turquoise. Mary is coming into town next week and we have a photo project planned!!
Also, sort of unrelated, but Greg and I saw La La Land last night. Like you (I'm only guessing here!), I'm pretty fond of Ryan Gosling. Since I haven't had a subscription to US weekly since I was a freshie out of college and living in New York, yesterday I took the opportunity while sitting in traffic to stalk Ryan and Eva's latest moves. Eva. Man, she is so beautiful. Well, anyway, I found a picture of her in a turban and it reminded me that I also really love turbans. I should probably watch a Youtube video on how to tie them. I'm definitely hoping to incorporate these into our shoot next week.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday lined up with family and friends. What a great time to get yourself organized and really settle into the things you're set on making happen in 2017. I feel a theme of "giving" and "community" coming on strong. For every strong negative force there is a positive counter force. We can all be that.
